Coastal areas/coast has specific character compared to other areas. This region is an
aggregation of the various components of the ecological and physical interrelated and interact with
each other. Development by utilizing coastal resources without regard to ecological principles will
be able to damage the coastal ecosystem functions.Regional development in coastal areas as the
development of the region in other regions, has the main objective to improve the welfare of the
community. These activities are carried out through the planning development in a process in
which there are various approaches that must be considered.Today the development of the coastal
region is growing very rapidly and demonstrated the presence of multiple activities, such as
farming, fishing, industry entrepreneurs, hotel and tourist recreation, and businesses. By increasing
and complexity of the activities in which it is necessary to plan the development of coastal
areas/coast. An integrated coastal zone management (Integrated Coastal Zone Management) is the
key to development through problem solving and conflict in coastal areas which is very
complicated and complex.
