The aims of this experiment were ; (1) to know the characteristies of the physic and technical material and the test of the concrete strength on the addition of fly red brick (admixture); and (2) to design the mixture composition of the concrete K-300 and analyze the characteristies. The experiment was carried out for three months in Laboratory of Soil Mechanical, Material, Asphalt, Soil Geometry and Hydrolica, Engineering Faculty University of 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda.
The materials used in this experiment : among are gravel Ex Palu, shoomote aggregate Ex Mahakam, fly of red brick, and cement Tonasa type I. Test material, covering : (1) the test of aggregate covering analysis : sieve analysis (SNI.03-1969-1990), content of silt and clay (SNI.03-4142-1996), bulk density (SNI.03-4804-1998 ), water content (SNI.03-1971-1990), specific gravity dan absorption (SNI.03-1969-1990), the weakness aggregate of the Los Angeles machine (SNI.03-2417-1991); (2) the list of concrete mixture design (SNI.03-2834-1992), the examination of the slump concrete and strength of the concrete press (SNI.03-1974-1990).The results of the experiment showed : (1) the value of specific gravity dan absorption, bulk density, water content and of the gravel Ex Palu and shoomote aggregate Ex Mahakam fulfils the requirement except the material one (silt and clay content) became as much as 3,355% dan 3,301% more the 1%. So gravel aggregate Ex Palu and shoomote aggregate Ex Mahakam can be cleaned first to clean out the dust; (2) based on the test and analysis that the production of the concrete K-300 using mixture for gravel aggregate Ex Palu 75% and shoomote aggregate Ex Mahakam 25%, and (3) to add fly of red brick to the 5% can produce concrete to fulfil the standard.
