The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of C ½ Mo steel material used in the system transfer line. This experiment is testing the chemical composition by using a Niton alloy analyzer, hardness testing the hardness tester Equotip-2 models Brinel Proceeq Testing Instrument and testing metallographic microscope with a digital model of PV-10-CBM2N Olympus Optical. The survey results revealed that C ½ Mo steel material used in pipe line transfer containing 0.52% Mo (0.44 to 0.65% Mo standard) and 0.75% Mn (0.3 -0.8 % Mn standard). Violence average is 144 HBN standard hardness of 153 HBN price. Fault formed is brittle fracture (transgranular) in the form of flat and shiny fracture field. From these test results concluded that the quality of C ½ Mo steel used on the outside of the pipe line transfer is still in the allowable standard.
