Knowledge of the law is one among a wide range of human knowledge learned. An adage says, Ii ius ibi societas, where there are people there are laws. The theories and discoveries of norms in the new law are considered as a science if it is based on the philosophy of law as a branch of philosophy. Philosophy of law is also an important study because it is a strategic function in the formation of state law, such as in Indonesia. Thoughts of philosophers in the distant past is the basis behind the birth of schools such as schools of law of nature that apply universally and eternally natured since its source is directly from God, the pioneers of this school are: Plato, Aristotelis, Thomas Aquino, and Immanuel Kant. One branch of philosophy is the philosophy of law. Through this legal philosophy the truthful law is studied. So the philosophical discussion of the law is done by studying the philosophy of law and often referred to as Jurisprudence. That is the law philosophically studied in depth by examining object to its core or basis which is often called as nature.
