The use of concentrated sulfuric acid in the delinting of lintered cottonseed produce a high sulfate concentration waste which need a treatment prior to release it into environment. Adsorption is one of methods which can be applied to decline the sulfate ion concentration. The aim of this research was to evaluate the ability of zeolite and bentonite in reducing of sulfate concentration of the cottonseed delinting waste. Adsorption process with various of adsorbent weight and contact time was performed to determine the binding ability of those adsorbents to sulfate ion. It also evaluated the Langmuir isotherm model. Result showed that calcinated adsorbents have greater amvalues than those of non calcinated adsorbents. Constant Langmuir am for zeolite and bentonite earth are 10.14 and 9.17, respectively.
