The objective of this study was to reveal the effect of the application of problem-based learning completed with virtual media for learning activities and students’ learning outcomes, specially for dynamic electric topic in Grade X of second semester in MAN Wates 1 in the academic year of 2011/2012.This quasy-experimental research with a pretest and posttest non equivalent group design consisted of one independent variable with two dependent variables. The independent variable was problem-based learning completed with virtual media while the dependent variable was physics activities and learning outcomes. The population was the entire 201 X grade students of MAN Wates 1. The sample of the research was 67 students distributed into one experimental class (X-B), and one control class (X-C). The experimental class was taught using problem-based learning completed with virtual media, and the conventional class wass taught using the conventional model (without virtual media). The data were collected using learning activities observation sheet and learning outcomes tests. The data were analyzed using the descriptive and inferential statistics independent sample t-test for the significance level of 0.05.The results of this study is: (1) problem-based learning completed with virtual media is better and significant for the learning activities, which means that those using problem-based learning completed with virtual media show better results than those who using the conventional model, without virtual media (tested using the percentage of activity), (2) problem-based learning completed with virtual media and significant effect on learning outcomes of students, which means that the application of problem-based learning completed with virtual media showes a higher result than the aplication of conventional models (tested using Independent Sample T-test with t= 2.339at α = 0.05).
