Maggot meal black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) contains a fairly high crude protein of about 43.2% (Newton et al., 2009), nutrient composition contained in the BSF maggot meal depends on the manure type used as feed. Quality protein and metabolizable energy content of maggot meal has not been known, but important for poultry feed formulation. Therefore, this study aims to determine the value of metabolizable energy and nitrogen retention maggot meal from different sources that were attempted in the quail. Research using completely randomized design with four treatments and six replications. The treatments tested consisted of P1: maggot fed quail manure, P2: maggot fed ducks manure, P3: maggot fed broiler Manure, and P4: maggot fed Manure laying hens. The results showed that treatment of origin / source of maggot meal from various of manure types were not significant effect on the value of metabolizable energy and nitrogen retention. Value of metabolizable energy (AMEn) BSF maggot meal range 3028-3373 kcal / kg and nitrogen retention ranged from 63.96 to 75.84%.
