The purpose of this study were; conduct an analysis of the factors that affect demand and supply of broiler meat in South Kalimantan by using simultaneous equations model, knowing the elasticity of short-term and long-term demand and supply of broiler meat in South Kalimantan. Research conducted in South Kalimantan province, used secondary data such as time series from the years 1990 to 2008. This research used linear simultaneous equations model allegedly using 2SLS (two stage least square method) using SAS / ETS 6:12 version. Results showed that broiler production in South Kalimantan was influenced by factor price of chicken at the level of producer and its response was inelastic in the short term. Broiler meat price at the consumer level also influenced with the elastic response of both the short and long term. Similarly, the feed price variable significant but with a positive direction, Number of broiler cuts was influenced by broiler population, the prices of broiler at the producer level and broiler meat prices at the consumer level, but the response was inelastic in the short term and long-term elastic. Behavior of broiler meat into South Kalimantan was influenced by the variables demand and prices of broiler and responsive to changes in both these variables. Factors that influenced the demand for broiler meat in South Kalimantan, namely the total population, broiler meat prices at the consumer level and the price of beef at the consumer level, with more elastic response to changes in long-term variable price of chicken meat and beef prices. The price of broiler meat consumer level was influenced by the price of broiler at producer level but the response was inelastic. Variable demand and supply of broiler meat affected with the elastic response of both the short and long term.
